It is hereby informed for information of all concernet that the last date for submission of applications for admission to different P.G.Courses has been extended upto 28th July, 2010.
The extended date is however, applicable only to those students who passed their degree examination from institution affiliated to NEHU and applicable only for those subjects, degree results which have been announcec after 10th July, 2010.
Applicants may submit downloaded marksheets from the University website www.nehu.ac.in in case the original marksheets are not received in time.

In the event of non receipt of Marksheets of the Under Graduate Examinations of the 3rd Year of Degree Course by the affiliated colleges within the last date of submission of form for admission to different P.G. Programmes, NEHU students may download the marks available on the NEHU website and this will be accepted by the respective P.G. Department of the University for admission process. These may be treated as addendum to advertisement Notice No. F.28-3/Acad/Admission/2007-1438 dated 21st June, 2010.

WHO CAN APPLY:
For M.Phil/Ph.D Programme: Candidates with at least 55% marks at Master Degree level from any recognized University. Relaxation up to 5% is admissible in respect of candidates belonging to SC/ST category.
For Master Degree Programme: (I) Candidates who have passed the Three Year Degree Course Examination of any other recognized/University (II)For M.Sc. Environmental Sciences : Candidate having a graduate degree with Major/Honours in any of the subject: Environmental Science /Botany /Zoology/ Chemistry/ Biotechnology /Geography/ Geology/Forestry shall be eligible to apply, (III) For M.Ed Programme: A candidate holding Bachelor Degree in Education (i.e. B.Ed or equivalent) of this University or any other recognized University with 55% marks in theory (50% in case of SC/ST) shall be eligible for admission to Master’s Degree in Education (M.Ed). In case of students (a) who graduated from colleges affiliated to or maintained by this University or (b) who are permanent domicile of Meghalaya (supported by SC/ST or Permanent Residential Certificate) graduated from other universities, the percentage of marks obtained in the subject concerned (B.Ed in the case of admission to M.Ed) shall be raised by 10% on the aggregate. In case of those candidates who have not offered the subject in the Major/Honours no such weightage shall be given and their marks in the Major/Honours subject without weightage shall be taken into account. For Department of Adult & Continuing Education Graduation in any subjects (B.A/B.Sc./B.Com/Equivalent degree) with 50%. Additional weightage shall be given to those who have P.G. Certificate/P.G.Diploma in Adult & Continuing Education. For M.Sc. Plant Molecular Biology (Botany Department): Candidates having B.Sc. (Hons) Botany / Biochemistry/Microbiology/Chemistry (with Botany/Zoology/Chemistry/Biochemistry as one of the papers).
For Certificate/Diploma Courses: For P.G. Diploma in Statistics ( Two Semester) any one who has passed the B.A/ B.Sc./B. Com. examination of this University or any other University with Mathematics as a subject at 10 + 2 level.
HOW TO APPLY
Prescribed application forms with prospectus can be obtained in person from the Receptionist, Administrative Building, Permanent Campus, Shillong – 793022 or from the office of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, NEHU, Tura Campus, Tura – 794001 during office hours on payment of Rs. 100/- through University Challan/Banker’s Cheque/Bank Draft in favour of “ North-Eastern Hill University”, Request for admission form by post should be addressed to the Section Officer (Academic), NEHU, Permanent Campus, Shillong – 793022, accompanied by a self addressed envelope of 26 x 16cm size affixing Rs.25/-postage stamp thereon and enclosing D.D for Rs.100/-. The application form / prospectus fee is not reimbursable. The admission form may be downloaded from NEHU Website www.nehu.ac.in and filled-in application form alongwith the Demand Draft can be sent to the Section Officer (Academic), NEHU, Shillong – 793022.
LAST DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS:
Application forms duly filled-in are to be submitted to the concerned Department/Centres located in Shillong and Tura Campus, on or before 16th July, 2010 . Application received after the specified date will not be entertained. For other details the candidates may consult the prospectus of the University.
