WHO CAN APPLY: For M.Phil/Ph.D Programme: Candidates with at least 55% marks at Master Degree level from any recognized University. Relaxation up to 5% is admissible in respect of candidates belonging to SC/ST category,
For Masters Degree Programme:
(a) Candidates who have passed the Three Year Degree Course Examination of any other recognized University
(b) For admission to M.Sc Rural Development & Agricultural Production: Students with B.Sc Degree in Agriculture or B.Sc Degree having Zoology or Botany or Bio-Chemistry as one of the subjects, can apply
(c) For admission to M.A./M.Sc. Anthropology: (i) First preference to students with honours in Anthropology.(ii) Second preference to students with honours in Sociology, Geography, Zoology Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Home Science and Mass Communication
(d) For admission to M.A Philosophy: (i) First preference to honours in philosophy (ii) Second preference to honours in any subject, simple pass in Philosophy (with a minimum of 40% marks), General pass in Philosophy (with a minimum of 50% marks in Philosophy and at least 45% marks in aggregate), B.D. students with a minimum of 60% marks are considered along with the General pass
(e) For admission to M.A. Statistics: Graduate with Statistics (Hons) and Mathematics as a pass subject/Graduate with Mathematics (Hons) and Statistics as a pass subject; B.A/B.Sc. with Mathematics and Statistics as pass subjects. In addition students with P.G. Diploma in Statistics of NEHU may also apply if having Mathematics as honours or Pass subject
(f) For admission to M.A. Linguistics: A student with honours in any subject securing an aggregate of 50% ( relaxable by 5% for SC/ST) or General passed candidates securing an aggregate of 50% (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST) may apply. Selection will be based on the Admission Test
(g) For admission to M.A. Education: A candidate with 50% marks in B.Ed may also apply for admission in M.A. Education course
(h) For admission to Master in Library and Information Science: All those who have passed three year degree course (Honours) in B.A., B.Sc., or B.Com
For admission to Professional Courses: Master in Business Administration (MBA):
a)Candidates who have passed Bachelor’s Degree course in any discipline from any recognized University b) Candidates must have a valid of Management Aptitude Test (MAT) score obtained during the last one year.
(B.Tech) Information Technology (IT) and Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE): (a)Candidates who has passed the higher secondary Science Examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board having secured a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST candidates), (b) A candidates must have a valid All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) score.
For Certificate/Diploma Courses: For Certificate courses (One Semester) in Environmental Studies and Diploma Course(Two semesters)/Certificate course. (One Semester) in Adult and Continuing Education, the eligibility criteria will be a Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University.
HOW TO APPLY Prescribed application forms with Prospectus can be obtained in person from the Receptionist, Administrative Building, Permanent Campus,Shillong-793022 or from the Office of the Pro-Vice Chancellor, NEHU, Tura Campus, Tura – 794001 during office hours on payment of Rs.100/- through Banker’s Cheque/Bank Draft drawn in favour of “North Eastern Hill University”. Request for admission form and Prospectus by post should be addressed to the Dean Students Welfare, NEHU, Permanent Campus, Shillong – 793022, accompanied by a self addressed envelop of 26 x 16 cm affixing Rs.25/- postage stamp thereon and enclosing D.D for Rs.100/.The application form/Prospectus fee is not reimbursable. The admission form may also be downloaded from NEHU Website www.nehu.ac.in and filled-in application form alongwith the Demand Draft can be sent to the Dean Students’ Welfare, NEHU,Shillong-793022.
LAST DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS: Application forms duly filled-in are to be submitted to the concerned Departments/Centres located in Shillong as well as in Tura Campus.
(a) For MBA Programme the last date of submission of application forms is on or before 20th June, 2007.
(b) For B.Tech, Law and other courses the last date of submission of application form is on or before 29th June, 2007.
Applications received after the specified date will not be entertained. However, for NEHU students applying for M.A/M.Sc./M.Com./M.Lib.Sc. the last date will be extended by 15 days after the declaration of the result. For any other details the candidates may consult the Prospectus of the University.
