The Department of Education, NEHU, Tura Campus was established in August, 2001. Since then, it has been offering two years M.A. Programme and Ph.D.Programme in Education. |
Profile |
The Department of Education, NEHU, Tura formally came into existence from August 2001. In addition to normal post-graduate teaching, the department provides Ph.D. level research programme and carries out various co-scholastic activities such as workshops, seminars, extension lectures, and student group interactions. Faculty members are continuing to work as resource persons in the UGC sponsored Refresher Courses and Staff Orientation Programmers organized by various Universities including NEHU, and chair sessions and present papers in different national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops |

Teacher Education, Educational Technology, Special Education, Primary Education, Sociology of Education, Educational Psychology, Education for the Gifted and the Creative, Environmental Education and Value Education are the thrust areas of study and research in the Department of Education.
