M.A. in Linguistics is a Four-Semester Program with four courses per semester.

The compulsory courses are Phonology, Morphology, Syntax, Introduction to Linguistics, Sociolinguistics, Lexicography & Lexicography, Semantics, Generative Phonology, Historical Linguistics, South Asia as a Linguistic Area (with special focus on NE), Translation Theory and Practice, Language Education, Tibeto-Burman & Austro-Asiatic Structure, Field Methods and Analysis of data.
