Experimental Facilities:
Experiments performed in laboratories are crucial to the understanding of natural phenomena, and are an integral part of research and training in Chemistry.
The research laboratories are currently equipped with a Hitachi Spectrofluorophotometer (Hitachi F-4500), the LCR Meter (Wayne Kerr 6440B); Spectro Electrochemical Measurement Equipments, Auto- MSB Magnetic Susceptibility Measurement Balance under the DST-FIST program.
The other instruments acquired and installed under various research projects of Faculty Members are Perkin-Elmer Lambda 25 UV-Vis Spectrophotometer; Millipore Elix-3 Water Purification System; 1 Unit of Millipore Water Purifier; Hitachi U-2900 UV/VIS; Julabo Heating & Refrigerated Circulator; Orion Ion Selective Electrodes etc.
Other experimental facilities like NMR, SEM, TEM etc are provided by
SAIF.
Computational Facilities:
In the recent past, computer simulation of chemical problem has played an important role in the development of chemistry, particularly in the context of systems with week interactions and many degrees of freedom. The Department has four high-speed workstations (HP xw8600) to facilitate heavy computing. Among the softwares the Department have Gaussian 03, Amber, TurboMole and many others for high-performance computing.
