Theoretical developments on beyond Born-Oppenheimer treatment and non-adiabatic dynamics
The non-adiabaticity is a fundamentally important aspect in nature such as chemical reaction/photoabsorption/photodissociation and has obtained serious attention during the last three decades for detailed understanding from the theoretical point of view. There are plenty of opportunity to explore this rich area of chemical physics namely: (a) The formulation of Extended Born-Oppenheimer equation from first principles for a coupled three - and four - state electronic manifold in terms of mixing angles of real electronic basis functions; (b) The construction of quasi - diabatic Hamiltonian matrix for a given sub-Hilbert space; (c) Ab-initio calculation of non-adiabatic coupling elements for molecular systems and its effect in the dynamics.
