The Khasi word for a nursery of flowers is 'Persara' and this is the name of the hostel with an old world charm. Built in the old style of stone and mortar, with deeply sloping roofs reminiscent of swiss chalets, the buildings of this hostel blend in with the serenity of the pine-tree filled landscape around it. There are two Blocks, A and B, that have 32 single rooms and 14 double rooms between them. It houses Post-Graduate Female students of the university.

Admission to this hostel is done through the Office of the Dean of Students’ Welfare every year after admission to various streams of Post Graduate courses of the University.
