The Agricultural and Ecological Research Unit, Biological Sciences Division, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata and the Department of Management, North-Eastern Hill University, Meghalaya is pleased to make the first announcement of the "Modern Ecological and Agricultural Practices with
Statistical Methodologies and R software" to be held in North-Eastern Hill University, Tura Campus, Meghalaya, India during 30th - 31st March 2017. This workshop is an annual event organized by Agricultural and Ecological Research Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. The program was
initiated in 2014 by the AERU under the financial support from ISI Kolkata and National Board of Higher Mathematics to cater the statistical training to interdisciplinary researchers. Over the last three years, the workshop has received vigorous support from the participants across different parts
of India. This is the fourth workshop in this series and is going to be held in North Eastern Hill University, Tura Campus, Meghalaya, India. The event will be jointly organized in collaboration with the Department of Management, North Eastern Hill University, Meghalaya.

Workshop Objective:
The workshop is intended to give rigorous training program on modern ecological and agricultural
issues with statistical methodologies and R software for advanced M.Sc students, allied disciplines,
researchers and faculties from college and universities who are extensively involved in
interdisciplinary research activities. The two days program will deal with the application of modern
statistical tools and techniques using R to the problems arising from agriculture and ecology.

Workshop Charges: There is no charge for training or fees for registration in the workshop. Working
lunch and snacks will be provided to all participants free of cost on the two days during March 30-
31, 2017. TA and lodging (dormitory/twin sharing) will be paid to maximum of ten 10 outstation
participants (dinner expenses has to be paid by the participants themselves).
Intake: Total 30; 20 participants from NEHU, Tura Campus, Meghalaya; 10 participants from outside.
Outstation participants from North-East India will be given preference.

Late and incomplete application will not be entertained.
Selected candidates will be informed by email. They have to submit hard copy of the filled in application with proper endorsement at the time of joining the workshop, otherwise their candidature will be cancelled.
